Some suggestions for improving the heat dissipation of LED lamps


At present, LED lamps still have a lot of power to become hot. Secondly, LED high-current density and modular lighting fixtures will generate more concentrated waste heat and require good heat dissipation. To improve heat dissipation, we provide the following suggestions:

1. From the perspective of LED chips, new structures and processes are needed to improve the heat resistance of the junction temperature of the LED chips, as well as the heat resistance of other materials, so that the requirements for heat dissipation conditions are reduced.


2. Reducing the thermal resistance of LED devices, adopting new packaging structure and new processes, selecting new materials with good thermal conductivity and heat resistance, including adhesive materials between metals, mixed glue of phosphors, etc., making the thermal resistance ≤ 10 °C/W or lower.


3. Reduce heating, use heat-dissipating materials with good thermal conductivity as far as possible, and require better ventilation holes in the design so that waste heat can be dissipated as soon as possible, and the temperature rise should be less than 30°C.


4. Many methods of heat dissipation, such as the use of heat pipes, of course, very good, but to consider the cost factor, design should consider the issue of cost.


In addition, the design of LED lamps in addition to improving the efficiency of lamps, light distribution requirements, beautiful appearance, to improve the level of heat dissipation, the use of good thermal conductivity materials, in the radiator coated with certain nano-materials, its thermal conductivity increased. In addition, to have good mechanical properties and tightness, the heat sink should also be dust-proof, requiring the temperature rise of the LED lamps should be small.
