Effects Of Electrostatic Discharge For LED Lighting

LED lamps used in the process, is bound to damage and cause damage to the LED lamps for many reasons. Electrostatic discharge is a result of LED lamps.

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage is the highly integrated semiconductor device fabrication, transportation and the most common form of a transient overvoltage hazard, and LED lighting systems are required to meet the IEC61000-4-2 criteria of "human body electrostatic discharge" 8kV contact discharge, to prevent electrostatic discharge may cause the electricity shock failure.

LED PN junction array performance reduction or damage will occur, as shown in Figure 2. ESD discharge path leading to internal failure of the LED chip, this failure may be only partially functional damage, serious would cause the LED permanently damaged.
